Internet Explorer & Windows Explorer s-l-o-w ....

I found on this site today that a long time member helped another user with IE's address bar not working back in April. I am having the same problem, and have had since Nov. Every "tech support" paid service I have tried can't solve my problem. I am now also having a problem with Windows Explorer too.

IE takes up to 2 minutes to find and load a page if I only type the www.~~.com in the address bar, but if I type the entire address, including the http://www.~~.com then IE brings the page up immediately.

Windows Explorer takes about 20-60 seconds to load a list of my drives and files anytime I click the dropdown arrow to navigate to a different area (like to save a file to desktop instead of in my docs.)

I tired the fix for IE located at this forum, topic # 30617, but wasn't able to get my problem fixed. For now, this forum is my last hope, as the paid "tech support" I have used has instructed me to restore my computer to factory defaults, which I obviously hate to do...

Can anyone help? Please...

Hi Julie, I won't be online much longer tonight
But in the meantime, can I have a closer look please, ensure nothing is amiss
Download Hijackthis 1.99.1 from my signature below
SAVE it to your desktop

Double click on hijackthis_sfx.exe on desktop
Click the UNZIP button>>OK the prompt
This will self extract to C:\Program Files\HijackThis
Delete hijackthis_sfx.exe from desktop

Go to START>>RUN
Copy>>paste the following to the open field, then hit OK
%systemdrive%\Program Files\HijackThis
This will open the Hijackthis folder
RIGHT CLICK on Hijackthis.exe and select SEND TO>>Desktop (create shortcut)
You can now run Hijackthis.exe from the new shortcut placed on your desktop

Do a "SCAN and Save a Log file"
A log will open in Notepad
Copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here
