WinXP unatteded setup with $OEM$\\$$\\system32 on CD

I prepared some modified system files (shell32.dll, user32.dll, winlogon.exe, logonui.exe, explorer.exe.. edited to my native language!). Now I wanna replace the M$ original/core system files with those modified ones during unattended setup.

I put those files into $OEM$$$system32 (except $OEM$$$explorer.exe) and plus others like wallpaper under $OEM$$$web and Fonts under $OEM$$$...

The $OEM$ folder surely was located under CD root.

The result, however, was different than expected: the core system files were not replaced while the wallpaper, fonts were OK![/b] That means my $OEM$ was properly used yet the above problem still occurs. How come? How to solve? Please get me out asap! Thank you!

System files are locked once Windows boots up.  You can not copy over them until you are in safe mode.  Even then you can only rename them most of the time.  You will need some other way to edit the files then a simple copy.  Look at the info on modifing the XP winlogon.exe for more info.  There is an entire thread devoted to it.

Hmmm, couldn\'t you just modify the files, then replace them in the cabs that setup uses? it seems to me like that would work (unless they check filesize or somethin)
