Hi,,
I just bought a via usb 2.0 pci card from the net. all it came is with drivers no setup instructions. So I thought when i pluged in the new pci card my xp would automaticly see the new card but it doesnt seem to.
Ive tryed going into my device manager and it doesnt show any yellow exclamation marks....and i cant seem to see the pci card in my list of hardware (unless i just doesnt see it as im unsure what it should say)
All I know about the card is whats listed under the site I bought it from theres no instructions or box come with it and when i put the disc into my comp. all it does is shows me the files on it. If you need to know about the card it can be found at (*bay) site Item number: 260211350157
Is there something wrong with the card or the computer, as its not picking it up or is it a setting i have to change. I hoe someone here can help.

Shut down the computer and try a different PCI slot
See if it's recognized, most are, I just popped one in for a buddy and had no problems

Can you give exact name of USB adapter you bought?
What do you mean it came with driver? Did you install the driver?

ok ill try another slot...there all used up so this might suck if they dont swap around fine.

the usb card is a via 4+1 usb 2.0 pci card (not sure of the model number till i take it out again and it didnt come with a box)
it came with a mini driver cd but because the computer doesnt see the card at all i cant load the driver for it. plus i cant find an .exe file on the disk anyhow.
ive also been told elsware to unistall all my orig. usb drivers as sometimes they conflict i guess.....ill try what you said 1st tho thanks!!
