Help with winlogon.exe (just started happening)
« on: April 28, 2008, 10:16:15 PM »
Hi all, am having problems logging on to my computer, it starts
loading and sometimes will make it to displaying my desktop sometimes
not, after about 10 seconds or so it will crash and automatically restart,
this can happen once or up to five or six times
before it finally logs in completely, I then get the error message that
winlogon.exe. encountered a problem and had to close. I also have no
internet and imidetly a little window pops up in the lower left part of
my start menu saying a network cable is unplugged although all other computers in my house can acess the internet perfectly. This all randomly
started where my g15 LCD went black and and error came up and my comp
restarted. Can someone help me?

If you still need a hand
Can you do the following

Download Hijackthis Installer from HERE
For an alternate download location, you can try HERE
SAVE it to your desktop
Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run it
Choose Install

Hijackthis v2.0.2 will open

Under Main Menu, Select
Do a system scan and save a Log file
A log will open in Notepad
Copy and Paste the Whole log back here to the forum----It is all important!

Take note: You may have to tranfer Hijackthis from one computer to another if you have no Internet connection, and tranfer the log from one computer to another in order to post it

I will probably move this topic to the Tech Clinic Section of the forum
