Motherboard problem

I have very wierd problem with my baord. It\'s a asus socket 7. When I plug anything into the sec. IDE chanel the keyboard quits working! Yet windoze still runs fine), unplug the cable from the drive end (without disturbing the board), the keyboard works.
Primary channel runs udma 33 fine, but every once in a while windoze 98 \"yellow flags\" the floppy controler and the ide controler. Then runs in dos comp. mode. USB, com and ps/2 ports work fine.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
                                      Thanks, Brad

use a USB keyboard to get yourself the latest drivers from the manufactureres website and get all the windows updates and service packs... then, return your keyboard....   http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Try first to exclude the floppy drive from the Windows, also the keyboard too. Reboot the system and it will adjust a new IRQ automatically.
