Asking for advice..
« on: December 22, 2008, 10:03:35 AM »
Im not very computer savvy but I think this may fit in my new computer
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150320 --Video card--

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817341010 --Power Supply--

I need to know if those will fit in the new tower case because its suppose to be a small case, and its a retail computer (10.6x4x14.4 inches, HWD) in order. So if you have time on your hand, can you please help me because I need to know before the end of the week (Christmas). Thank you for your time and patience.

The power supply is weak that comes standard in the Aspire X1200, but can be upgraded, you'll have to shop around
If your going to add in a PCIe card, it's a must
500W minimum>>600 recommended
I don't think you would have the room for that PSU, and possibly the Video card
Take note, you may void warranty if you open the computer and start changing hardware
You will most likely be looking for Slimline design hardware for the inside of the computer

There's not much room in the inside
take a look at some pics, watch the video

You may want to check your local computer stores, see what they recommend
You don't have to buy from them, just gives you an idea what your looking for

Try and be patient, shop around and get the best deal for your buck
Or Mom and Dad's pocketbook  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
Some games, in the meantime, try reducing some of the options
I seen your other topic related to WOW
Here's there recommendations

Look under Graphics Settings and Optimizing Windows
This will help optimize the game in the meantime

Well, I think the card may fit because there is another PCI slot x16 on the motherboard, it is SLI I wanted a 600W power supply because to run the 9600 with SLI is a minimum of 600W with SLI running so thats why I switched to 600 instead of 500, I went to circuit city and they said I should buy a 500W and a 9800GT for 300$ I was like Ill think about it... Ill just order it off Newwgg for like 80$ cheaper so Ill ask them for advice once I get my pc ill bring it to them see if it can run a 9800 in it or 9600.

I'm not going to hunt down the specs of the Video card

The best you can do, open the inside of the computer
Use a measuring tape and take dimensions, ensure the card will fit

You asked for advice, and I gave it
That's it for me, but I'm not going to Google dimensions, specs. etc..
I'll leave that in your hands
