unable to remove scanner software
« on: May 10, 2009, 08:42:06 PM »
I have windows media center edition.
I installed the HP G4010 software. I cannot remove it with the control panel.  I get a clean-up message but the program still remains on the computer.

suggestions?

Why are you removing the scanner software?
Are you reinstalling it? OR you no longer have the scanner?

What is the exact make/model of your computer
What is the exack make/model of your scanner??

From marineborer

I bought a HP G4010 scanner.

I have windows xp media center edition -unable to remove scanner software

I downloaded software for the HP G4010 scanner.

I uninstalled the program because I wanted to reset the scanner so that it would not have to warm up each time.  There were 2 options, a energy saving mode and a mode which does not require a warm up.

I am unable to remove the software ( all I get is a "clean-up") but the software remains
on the computer.

(I removed the program from the start-up)

I wasted about 4 hours trying to find out what to do.

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 desktop computer

Use the Windows Cleanup utility as suggested here:
