Uninstalling IE from Windows Vista
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:13:49 AM »
I tried updating my computer from IE 7 to IE 8 and ever since then IE won't work at all- the program won't even open, it just keeps locking up. SO I was going to uninstall it, and then reinstall, but I can't find it in the control panel under "Programs & Features"- I'm running Windows Vista, so there is no "Add/Remove Programs". Any assistance is truly appreciated! Thanks!

There's a good chance a addon is not compatible with IE8, which I would keep by the way as it is more secure
How about doing the following so I can see better, what's going on
Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.
 • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe.
 • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
 • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
