i got my friend to give me his old xfx radeon hd 4650 pci-e graphics card, to replace my onboard graphics. There was nothing wrong with the card, he just upgraded to a newer one. My problem is, that after using the card for awhile my monitor would turn off, and the fan on the card would start running full blast. The only way i could stop this is to restart my computer. This happened more and more often until i took the card out of my computer completely. I know its not the monitor because it works on my onboard card perfectly. I tried getting help from the xfx website, but nothing they suggested worked. (they said to go to
http://xfxsupport.info/downloads/documentation/ATI-Driver-installation-Troubleshooting.pdf, and if it still didn't work, to return the card.) I also noticed that my computer seems to run a bit slower with the graphics card in..which is odd considering it has its own dedicated memory, instead of using my system memory. I have windows 7 ultimate, fully updated, and i had the latest drivers from their website for the card. Not sure if anyone here can help considering the people at the company that made it couldn't help, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. Thanks
Oh and i have a 430 watt psu in case that matters.
