Microsoft Proxy
« on: May 29, 2003, 09:42:48 PM »
Umm ok the deal is that at work we are running a microsoft proxy server on the network to sahre a 10mb/sec connection , which is all working well and good, but now that a number of us have laptop comptuers we want to add them onto the network. I know the proxy information and the ports and the address for the autoconfigure settings however all of the work computers and on a windows 2000 domain and thus we can't add our laptops using the auto configure script as we don't have domain authentication on the laptops and we can't add thenm to the network without the administration user name and password which we don't have.

So what I would like to know is if there is any way that i can run the client setup program from a share that is on a windows 2000 domain authentited server which without joining the network we can't gain access to?
