I bought my first computer, a P3 550, two years ago under the ignorance of childhood. I have since grown up, and after using Windows 2000 for a bit, finding out my power supply was faulty -- the hard way --, replacing my motherboard, and wiping my harddrive I have been forced to retreat back to my old OEM Windows ME disk.
My problem is inside the search window. I type in any text, hit the search button, and little to nothing happens. Only the magnifying glass animation moves one frame, and that's the end of the search. It continues to say \"enter your criteria to begin your search\" in the window. It continues to say \"0 object(s)\" on the bottom. I had this problem before I was able to secure an aunt's copy of Win 2000, but now I'm back to square one.
I can't simplu upgrade either, some of you may know of the hard-drive encoding Windows ME does for no apparent reason. I really don't want to lose everything I have... again... (stupid 56k...).
Anyways, ponder that one for a bit, and tell me what you find out.
Cheers,
Kevlar Gorilla
