This has been bugging me for ages. I just can't seem to get it clear in my mind. If anyone can help that would be great. I'll try and be clear.
I want an xp cd with intergrated hotfixes. I understand how to get most of them to work by using the svcpack directory in i386 on the cd and using a svcpack.inf file etc. I've done that and it works.
I now want to install the other type of hotfixes for ie6 etc that don't work this way.
From all I've read, I understand you need a $oem$ directory at the ROOT of the cd. I've also read that you need a $1 folder inside $oem$ with the hotfixes in. Elsewhere I've read you need a $$ folder inside $oem$ with the hotfixes in. It's all a bit confusing.
I've read that the files get copied to the hard drive. but do they get installed as well? If so, do the files get deleted from the hard drive afterwards or are they sitting there taking up space and needing to be deleted after the setup?
If anyone who's done this can just clear this up that would be very nice!
