i cannot open my programs from my short cut on the desktop,and any softwares that i download.i cannot run the setup.also when i start my computer these appears:GStartup.lnk,RAMASST.lnk and Microsoft Office.lnk.

i scanned my computer with Ravav and here is the log...

Go into your task manager and end task on Gstartup
What operating system are you running?
Can you post a Hijackthis log?

If your running Windows XP try these fixes

Try download this registry fix
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/xp_exe_fix.zip

Save it and UNZIP it to your desktop
Double click on xp_exe_fix.reg and Allow it to merge to the registry

Restart your computer and try sending me a Hijackthis log

Or

try this method
Download this Zipped file http://www.dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/xp_fileassoc.zip
UNZIP it to your desktop and Double click on the
xp_fileassoc.bat to run it
Follow the prompts

RESTART your computer afterwards

I may not see your response until later on,

But also try an online virus scan at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/---Set to Autoclean

And if you can
Do a free Online AV scan at RAV's
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/
When you access that link with Internet Explorer
click on the "To Continue without subsribing click here" link
It will load the activex and definition files

Ensure that all the top entries are checked
Autoclean--Inside Archives---Unpack Executables---Smart Scan
Then click the 'Scan my PC button'
Let it completely finish scanning

Copy and paste back the results here

i tried running xp_exe_fix.reg ,hijackthis.exe and xp_fileassoc.bat, all these can't run or open.when try to run xp_exe_fix.reg i keep getting a message:Window cannot find a program to run this......

So I take it your running Windows XP?

Download and save to desktop UnHookExec.inf
from Symantec

Right-click the UnHookExec.inf file and click install. (This is a small file. It does not display any notice or boxes when you run it.)

Try posting a Hijackthis log

when i install it a window comes up saying:

Windows cannot open this file:

File:grpconv.exe

Windows need to konw what program created it....

but when i open it i see an Unhook.Exec notepad.
i can't have the hijackthis log because i'm not able to run the hijackthis program.

please help

Did you just Right Click on the file and then Click INSTALL
Don't double click on it to install it

Try it in safe mode
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Can you access your registry?
Go to Start>>>Run>>Type in regedit and hit Enter

yeah i can run the programs now immediately after i was able to run the hijackthis.is my log alright or it needs some cleanup?

Looks alright, to help prevent spyware onto your computer
You should install these 2 apps., they add extra security while
silently protecting you, without running in the background

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

Scroll down and click on IE-SPYAD.EXE Free!

With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Neither program runs in the background, just run once and check for updates every once in awhile


One things concerns me however, you mentioned GStartup

Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Ensure you have this version
If you don't have this verision,install this one
After installation-CHECK FOR UPDATES
Allow to download updates
Do a Full system scan----Remove All Critical objects
RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process

Let me know if it finds any Criticals, remove them if it does

i have got Ad-Aware SE Proffessional 1.05, is it alright or i should uninstall it and get the one you reccommended?

You have the paid version of Ad-Aware's software--Good Work
Keep your version
I didn't realize you already had it, you might want to use the Ad-Watch feature incorporated into the Se Professional's version
This protects parts of the registry from change from Hijackthers
