Editing Windows XP bootscreen with RegHack - probl
« on: August 21, 2003, 03:44:46 AM »
Hey all!

I'm trying to edit my windows xp boot screen (ntoskrnl.exe) with reshack, but have run into a wall...when I try to replace bitmaps 8 and 10 I have no problem, but when I try to replace bitmap 1 I get the following error:

Access violation at address 00402791 in module 'ResHacker.exe'. Write of address 0143B000.

What the heck?

The bitmap I'm trying to use to replace is using the same color pallette, pixel resolution, bit resolution, isn't compressed.....

Any ideas?

Thanks!

This would happen to me when the file I tried to us was saved in a color depth higher than 4 bit.
