i followed the guides to change the boot logo and replaced the ntoskrnl.exe file with my own and rebooted into safe mode following the guidelines....didnt work stayed with the original boot logo...why?

get a \"boot screen\" (download from style xp)

boot in to safe mode. press f8, find the file ntoskrnl.exe
 (in windows system 32 i think)
copy the one  you downloaded (itll be the same name) and copy
& paste into folder with ORIGINAL one in it. (windows system 32)  Make sure you use SP1 \'ntoskrnl if you have SP1 installed and vice versa..

Itll say \"do you want to replace  nostkrnl with this one..blah ..blah

yes. reboot in normal thats it\"!

why dont you download  bootxp
it is very simple

  have fun 'cause' iam
you can even have random bootup screen if you want
and also create your own
