optorite cdrw
« on: September 16, 2003, 12:29:55 AM »
I have a cd drive and a cdrw drive connected to my computer.  The cdrw is my "e" drive, the cd is my "d" drive.  The d works fine but when I click on my e drive I get a note popping up saying "e:\is not accessible.  The device is not ready."
When I initially installed it a number of months back it worked fine.  When I check in device manager it says the device is working properly.  Any suggestions.

Do you see the cdrw listed when you boot up? Does your BIOS see it. What happens when you insert a cd in that drive, do you just get error messages? Have you tried switching the positions of the two cd drives and it made no difference. If you answered Yes to all these questions I'd say your cdrw is dead.
