Disabling search for SATA drives
« on: December 09, 2003, 03:19:31 AM »
mobo is Asus P4G8X DX, Bios rev 1006, and only one IDE drive.  No Raid here.  But when the Bios starts up, it hangs for 5-10 seconds, searching for SATA drives.  And then after this time, it says "drive not found" (twice).  I would like to disable this search to speed up boot time.

I have tried pressing the key (F4) to enter Raid controller, but it doesn't do anything. And of course, I also looked everywhere in the main bios for such a control.

Anyone know how I can achieve this ?

Thanks
