Hello!

I have purchased a Western Digital WD1200JD SATA hard drive and am having problems installing it. This is the only HD I have installed and want to install Windows XP.

I pluged the SATA cable to the primary SATA slot and booted my PC. Nothing in the BIOS seems to show anything pertaining to my HD. I resumed with booting my system, it flashes NO ARRAY SET. I do not want to set an array because I only have 1 HD and do not want RAID.

I started winXP's installer and installing the fasttrack 376 driver as well as the SiI 3112 SATALink driver so that it knows how to use the built in controler. I only get to the partition screen when loading the fasttrack 376 drivers. The SiI 3112 SATALink still does not detect my HD.

I try proceeding with the partition and then windows installer gets an error screen.

What seems to be going wrong? I feel like I've tried everything.  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
Thanks in advance,
Marc
