SoundMAX Problems
« on: January 12, 2004, 08:48:31 PM »
My problem is that my motherboard, which is an ASUS A7V600 has an onboard SoundMAX Digital Sound Card and it has not worked. I've loaded the drivers, been in contact with the techies at SoundMAX, installed their suggested drivers, and now I am waiting for another sollution from them. When I access the device manager, it says that my card drivers are installed but the device is not functioning. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, but i am kinda weary about messing with my BIOS since I do not really know my way around there. If anyone has that time or interest in helping me out with that feel free, but keep in mind that I am not very experienced with it so I am not going to know all of the big technical phrases and stuff. Well I am babbeling and I am probibly leaving out critical details, but if you need more info please post and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks a ton.

I suggest going into BIOS just to see if onboard sound is enabled or disabled. I sounds like it might be turned off. Don't be affaid. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Just look for onboard sound is enabled or disabled. It may be under Intergrated Periferals. If you enable it save changes and exit.
