Dual boot win2k and win98
« on: February 18, 2004, 04:25:44 AM »
Hello everyone.

I made dualboot between win2k and 98se on one partition and win2k (ntfs) was installed first, but i didn`t formated the hard disk, actually i didn`t touched the win2k instalation at all. I have installed Partition magic, then i have created two partitions one "after c:" with fat32 file system to use for storing the needed instalations because the computer didn`t had cd-rom (but it was connected in network) and another partition "before c:" also as fat32. After copying instalation version of win98, all of the needed drivers and partition magic installation to my second partition (after c:) i have switched to the first partition (before c:) with the partition magic's boot tool (you can choos which partition will be set as active and the other one is set as hidden so the system will not see it at all, like it never existed) so i have booted the pc form floppy (win98 stratup floppy) transfered the system to c: and installed win98 form d: (my second partition). After installing win98 i have installed partition magic again and thanx to their boot meny i can choos which system do i want to start. This way you cannot see win98 partition when you are using win2k but you can see the second partition (after c:) from both partitions.

This way you can make dualboot between win98se and win2k on pc where you have win2k installed on ntfs partition and your installation of win2k must be intacted.
