hi all

my network at home is:

notebook with wlan
                                -------->connected to mr814v2 router
pc with patchcable

the router is functioning as dhcp and i can access internet from notebook, but not from pc

ping from notebook to router    ... ok
ping from notebook to pc     ...not ok
ping from pc to router              ... ok
ping from pc to notebook     ...not ok

so i think there is a problem with the router, although i have already upgraded the firmware to 5.03.

on both machines netbios and lmchost activated
maby worth mentioning i cant remove the lan connection setting...

im absolutely dont know what to do.

if anyone can help i would be very thankful

thanx
frank

If your are using XP, uncheck in your network connections...
IEEE / smartcard security
XP firewall

Check the router, if you use security: ip routing, mac addy authentication, etc.

In internet options,
make sure you have HTTP1.1. w/ proxy, use ftp passive firewall checked.
Lower the security zone settings also until you sort things out.

you can ping the router but not other pc's....your router is fine.
Also, if you set auto dhcp and dns to manual, set them back to auto for now

thanx for the reply

i´m running win2k, but i have solved the problem already
i had to reinstall os on notebook, because some trojans, worms and
viruses have caused some serious software damage i guess. (even after removal)

everything works fine after that
