how to know the speed of gpu

i am running asus geforce fx 5200 2x/4x/8x card on intel 845 with 2x/4x support
how can i know at what speed is my card running on
also i want to know that how much i am underperforming my 8x card by running it on 4x board

is there any good program which can test my pc for performance

You can download RivaTuner or Powerstrip or just do the "coolbits" registry hack and it will tell you the default speed of the GPU. You are not underperforming your card using 4X this is just a theoretical bandwidth so don't worry about it.
