Greetings...
I have been plagued by a problem now for quite some time and would love some assistance...
My PC spontaneously shuts down.. no screen of death, no shutdown procedure... nothing. I am running a dual AMD system on Windows XP pro and this problem has started recenetly rather than been around since the PC was built..
The problem is somewhat predictable... The computer will ALWAYS turn off while I render in a high level 3D program like MAYA. It will oftentimes shutdown while playing a graphically intensive game and it will occasionally shut down while burning a cd.. It has never shut down randomly while the PC is not being used. It also has a higher chance of shutting down before windows loads if, and only if, it has just spontaneously shut down without "setting" for awhile.
I have replaced the graphics card, power supply, and have a complete list of current drivers.. I have monitored both the heat and voltages going to the proccessors and can not seem to find an issue. The PC is highly protected and most certainly does not appear to have any viruses lurking in it's software environment.
It seems to me this is occuring during high end opperations.. Is it possible the second processor is just overheating and I just can't seem to track it by my guages? I'm tired of speculating and would love some assistance.
Best.
