WHO CARES if its 1 gigabit. get a 100 megabit SWITCH and it should run PERFECT, top qualtiy?, ..... figure 100 megabit has the ability to downlaod at 100 megs a second. ur not gonna EVER download that fast, cause servers wont allow it!. some off brand 100 megabit switch will be fine.
You are not informed very well. 100 Mbit = 100/8 MBytes/second = 12.5 MBytes/second. Then you must subtract about 25 % of it. You are @ ~ 9.4 MBytes/s! And this isn't enough for our home-network. There is the ability to get a bandwidth that is much better than with 100 Mbit if using 1000 Mbit. 1000 Mbit are 125 MBytes/second. Today you must subtract about 50-75% of it. Then we are @ ~ 31.2 - 62.5 MBytes/second.
1000 Mbit ----> about at least 31 MB/s
100 Mbit ----> about 10 MB/s
That makes a huge difference!!
