How to boot into PowerQuest Recovery Environment
« on: August 27, 2004, 03:22:43 AM »
Hi !!
I have PQ Drive Image 7.0 and now I want to boot up with PowerQuest Recovery Environment, but I don't know how to do it. The manual says "Boot with the PQRE in the CD-rom" but I don't have the PQ CD !!! Anyone know how to do this without the CD or if I can download the PQRE from the web ??

The PQRE CD is the same DriveImage7 CD that came in the box and that you installed from.
Just boot from it and be ready to hit any key when invited to start the PQRE. If you miss the prompt, your regular o/s will be booted, so be alert.
If you are going to load extra drivers (don't worry about this unless the software complains that it needs some), be sure to hit F6 at that initial prompt (even though it says "any key").
Best regards.

But if you don't have that CD for example, like I have downloaded that program from the site and when I unzip it, it has only 2 exe files and few ini files. Even If I copy these files to a CD, where does the system get bootable files from? Since it does not have any?

Any thoughts?
