slow XP
« on: November 02, 2004, 01:22:16 PM »
I bought a top of the line PC (3.2GHZ, 1GB ram 400Mhz, Nvidia 5900FX, Asus P4P800deluxe, 2x Maxtor 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb cache), and it was really good (it rocked!).

I turned it on and it was good. 30 sec to have winXP pro running.

I installed my Pinnacle PCTV pro, booted and it was not so good. over 1 minute to have WinXP loaded.

I deactivated PCTV, and it was good again. When i needed the card, i just had to activate it and could see TV.

Now win is slowed again. WHY, oh my lord, WHY????

any tip, Oh you mighty technicians, to help this poor user?

I tried witn TuneXP, system mechanic and others utilities, but no good http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> .

[could it be the IPX protocol i installed for my home network?]

Thanks a lot to ya all
