Free Mac Mini Deal
« on: January 22, 2005, 10:27:13 PM »
Hey Guys

This sounds like a great deal.  You can get a brand new Mac Mini computer (80 GB) and it seems pretty easy.  I know this sounds like some of the other sites where you have to buy something, but this one has a difference.  You can sign up for efax and you get a 30 day free trial and you can cancel before the 30 days are up and its totally free.

The company and offer are legit.  This article from Wired News looked into the company when it did the same offer with iPods:

Here's the procedure:

1. Go to www.FreeMiniMacs.com, a legitimate website run by the Gratis Network and recognized by major corporations and news services.

2. Sign up for the website. It does not require a credit card or billing address. Just enter the information it asks for. Do NOT yet complete an offer.

3.  The website added a series of pages with offers on them that follow immediately after signing up. These first five to ten pages are NOT part of the offer. Just click "no" in the radiobutton on every page until it takes you to the screen telling you about the actual offers.

4. Check your email. You will need to confirm your email. It should take you back to the freeminimac website and now ask you to complete an offer.

5. Here's the deal with the offers: The company makes money by getting you to sign up for some random offer. Most of them require little to no fees, and can be cancelled within a few days. For example, the eFax offer is completely free to sign up for, and you have thirty days to cancel. However, it takes about a week to get credit for it. I signed up for the CompleteHomes offer because you get instant credit for the offer and it only costs one dollar. Other safe deals are the Trimpspa and Botox offers. You get instant credit for those and only have to pay $5.95 in shipping. You can cancel that one almost immediately.

6. So, once you complete one of these offers, and yes a credit card is required, you will get a confirmation/congratulations email from the Gratis Network..

7. Now comes the hard part, referring 10 people. The best way to do this is persuade friends or family members to help you out. The only downside is that you can only sign up once per household, and they DO backcheck this. They also check IP addresses and credit card numbers. Do this honestly and don't try to scam them or they will catch you and they will NOT send you the Mac Mini. They will put your account on hold and all of your time and money is wasted.

8. Once you get ten people, then you're done! They take about a month or two to ship the items out, and since the Mac Mini is just released on Jan 22, I'd recommend getting a move on so you can be first on the list.
