My system has win2k on one partition and win98 on the other.
"Verifying DMI Pool Data..."
it wont go any further then that.
Since this error started I have not been able to boot up. Previously, it would suddenly reboot for no apparent reason. I don't have a lot of peripherals attached and I tried disconnecting them all but this does not change the problem. (I disconnected the modem, the ethernet card, the memory sticks, the cdr and dvd rom, left the video card and floppy as recommended by the motherboard user manual)
I tried a bit of cleaning but that didn't seem to help either.
I also got a blue screen sometime before that, but the pc seemed to recover.
Also I noticed something very strange. If I lift the group of wires coming from my power supply, (in trying to clean etc) it causes the computer to power on. I don't think this is supposed to happen. I usu have to turn the power switch at the back to off in order to prevent it.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! The manual does not mention what to do if their recommendations don't work.
