Cannot delete the XXX file and ICQ files!!
« on: February 10, 2005, 11:26:26 PM »
HELP!  I cannot delete a couple of files that are on my computer and I'm not quite sure how they got there!  ICQ Lite is one of them and XXX files which is a .dlr file on WebSite Viewer is another.  I want these 2 items gone.  I have downloaded Hijack This and CWShredder and SpySubtract all to try and get rid of this crap!  If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate any help with this problem.

I have the same problem with the XXX file. It's a DLR type file that automatically plugs my system into a porn site on a regular basis. I delete all of the short cuts and all but one of the main files. The one "parent" file prompts that it cannot be deleted because its being used by another application. Access denied. Please help.

Anyone else that has a similiar problem
Please start your own post
Supply a Hijackthis log

Can you Download Hijackthis 1.99.1
A small utility to help identify if any Hijackers, Malware, Spyware, etc.....Reside on your computer

Important: Create a Permanent folder for Hijackthis
Double Click "MY Computer"
Open your C: drive
Click "File" >>> "New" >>>> "Folder"
A new folder will be created, name it HJT

Now you will have C:\HJT

Download Hijackthis from CLICK HERE or CLICK HERE
Save it to that new folder

Do a SCAN and Save a Log file---Save the log----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  back at this forum... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important
