First, my AMD XP 1900+ @ 1.6 (not OC yet) will decide to cut it's frequency in half for no reason. I haven't timed it yet but just about everytime i start a game, after 5 minutes go by the processor goes from 1.6 to 800MHz and if it doesn't give my games piles and piles of lag (1 frame per 15 seconds!) it will crash the game and the computer and make me reset the stupid thing. I've got no clue why it's doing that, my guess is bad script. My comp was restored 2 weeks ago and i haven't put anything on it but DirectX9 and the latest nvidia drivers (71) for my GeForce 4 MX 440. My bro said it might be the Nvidia drivers, so i put in older ones, but it didn't do anything. Any ideas?
Second, my motherboard has a 4x AGP slot in it, and that card i mentioned is 4x capable, but when i read the stats for the card through windows it says there's only a 2x card in it. Any ideas on getting it to 4x the way it should be?
My pos comp is running the AMD XP 1900+ @ 1.6 GHz w/ 256MB DDR400 w/ the nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 64MB.
It's got Sandra software on it for computer statistic tracking and benchmarking, and it's using Power Pack 2005 for tweaking XP. I don't think it's a software conflict.
I'm getting a job to buy a new one -.- i can pretty much make a state of the art comp for 500$ which is what i'm going to upgrade into. Plz help.
