Having linux crash can screw up windows, I\'ve been there before.  First, linux can access your windows partition, so anything\'s possible there (very very not likely, but possible).  Second, the boot manager is on the linux partition.  So if it gets messed up, you may not be able to boot back into windows.  If this happens to you in the future, be sure you do a fdisk /mbr on your windows partition BEFORE you delete the linux partition.  Else you\'d better hope you have a Win98 startup disk because you won\'t be able to boot into windows.

If you\'re going to wipe out everything anyways, I wouldn\'t worry too much about it.  But if you need to salvage your Windows installation, let me know and I\'ll try to help you out.

Linux Crash doesnt screw up windows partition at all. That is beyond belief for me. Where as boot manager is concerned. It is located on Master Boot Sector not on Linux Partition. The MBR is the sector at cylinder 0, head 0, sector 1 of a hard disk and not in the OS itself. I had many crashes while launching mIRC kind of programs from Linux partition through Wine. Most of the times, I used to get total lockups. But i never experienced any such \"screen flickers\" everytime i used to get back in windows. Turned out that my Mother Board was bad, ever since i replaced it, i never have crashed even ONCE, neither in win2k nor in linux.
