abetterinternet spyware

Had this problem all day - an internet explorer (i'm using firefox though) download window keeps popping up and asking me to download things from abetterinternet.com. Having quite a bit of trouble getting rid of this so hopefully someone can help! Here's my highjackthis log:

Download and save to desktop
VX2Finder.exe
Open it and click the
"Click to Find VX2BetterInternet" button
Let it complete the scan and then click the
"Make log"
Post that log back here

Can you do me a favor

Create a new folder
Double Click "MY Computer"
Open your C: drive
Click "File" >>> "New" >>>> "Folder"
A new folder will be created, name it RKFILES

Now you will have C:\RKFILES

Download and UNZIP to that folder

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation

Go to START>>>RUN>>>type in services.msc and hit Enter
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- System Startup Service

Double click on it--- STOP the service--
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Disabled

Find and delete this file
c:\windows\system32\ptfmsc.exe <-file

Stay in safe mode
Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mittbx] c:\windows\system32\ptfmsc.exe

O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Navigate to C:\RKFiles and open the folder
Double click to run rkfiles.bat
Wait for the scan to finish
It will produce a log
C:\Log.txt

Reboot back to Normal mode

Post back a fresh Hijackthis log and the log from RKfiles.bat>>C:\Log.txt
