2000 Pro Paging file won't move!
« on: May 08, 2005, 01:42:17 PM »
This might sound like a museum piece to you guys, but am running AMD 500 processor with 220MB RAM. Win 2K Pro.with SP2 etc etc .

Separate partitions for Windows/Apps/Swap/temp etc.

Been running it for 2 years now, pruning and switching off things!-- and now, it is nearly as fast as my Pentium 2.8Ghz at the office!

Recently noticed that my dedicated partition for the paging file ( first one on drive 1) although it is set for 950MB max and min, seems to be being ignored by Windows which still shows 48 min + 90 maxMB on my drive "C ". How can I shift it back to using my "H "partition, on drive 1? When I go into My C/Props/Advanced/Perf Options it tells me there is not enough room on my drive H ( 1GB with the one folder on it called Swap)
I originally created this single folder on drive H called "swap" but can't remember how to force Windows to use it. Any help would be appreciated as am upgrading soon, and want to fine tune everything. Thanks in advance. Ian ( Island of Malta)[attachment=1761:RemoveWGA.zip]
