Problems installing memory on a Dell

I have a Dell Dimension 8250, and was going to upgrade it's memory from 512mb to 1g (or so).

So I brough a pair of 256mb Rambus rdram PC800 RIMMS from ebay, which is the kind the Dell configuration thing on the Dell.co.uk website (and the manual) said I needed.

They are Kingston memory, part no.: kvr800x16/256
According to google, the part no's are indeed 256mb PC800 Rambus RDRAM, although I can't find them on the webiste.

Took out the continuity parts, put in the memory and booted up: I immediatly get this a message saying that the wrong kind of memory was found in RIMM3 and RIMM4, and that I should put in 'RDRAM OC800-40ns or faster).

I tried upgrading the BIOS, but that didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Rambus is terrible...I feel bad for those with it...its so darn expensive.

too bad, maybe you can resell them so it isn't a total loss.
