Ghost Clone XP Drive To Another Computer Problem
« on: July 28, 2005, 06:46:41 AM »
Hi,

I have cloned a hard drive with XP-Pro on it to use in another computer.

The drive works ok as I have tested it in the old computer, so boot up etc no problem.

However when I put into the new PC it will not work. It asks if I want to load windows in safe or normal modes. It then hangs on a blue screen asking to run FDisk etc.

I understand that because of hardware diffrences between the new pc and the old pc, the new one will not boot.

I have tried switching off the PC before windows reboots after doing the clone with Ghost.

There is a lot of software and data on the drive. About 25 hours last time to do a new re-build. This is not a good option due to time.

Any ideas on how to make the cloned drive work in the new PC ?

Thanks.
