I need you too post a fresh hijackthis log from Hijackthis 1.99.1
Before you do, I need you to enter msconfig and enable all startups
This is necessary to see where all the bad guys are
If you hide them I can't be much help, but can lead you too some scans
But that's not what I'm here for

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Follow the instructions posted http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php/topic/22942-please-read-how-to-post-logs-from-frst/\'>Click Here

« Reply #4 on: September 24, 2005, 09:36:08 PM »
Sorry for the delay

Can you do the following please

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer until you are clean, I would like you to run Ewido's on your system
If it finds some bad registry entries that need removed
We don't need tea timer interfering with any fixes

Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Then click "Resident"
Uncheck only  Resident Tea Timer and allow the change

==Download and then Install
Ewido Security Suite

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
When you run ewido for the first time, IF you get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We'll fix that next
From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link after you have Ewido installed
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation

In safe mode

==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
*2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
*3. Perform action with all infections
  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: While Ewido's is running don't open any other windows
Allow it to run undisturbed

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O23 - Service: TASKESV (TESV) - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\taskcntr.exe (file missing)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Restart back to Normal mode

Run Hijackthis again and post a fresh log
Also post the Whole report from Ewidos

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Download this:

http://rapidshare.de/files/5419001/unlocker1.7.2.exe.html

Unlocker for Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Copyright © 2005 Cedrick Collomb
ccollomb.free.fr

Using Unlocker
--------------

How often have you tried to delete or rename a file or folder and got
"Cannot delete xxx: It is being used by another person or program." ?

Unlocker is a tool which will help you removing this scandaleous Windows
bug.

Simply right click the file or folder and select Unlocker. If the file
or folder is locked then a window will appear with a list of processes
locking the file or folder. Select the locks and click Unlock and you
are done.

It is recommended to Unlock wisely and to close open processes locking
files or folder if any, but if only Explorer.exe is the culprit, do not
hesitate ! http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
