Differences between OS X and Windows
« on: August 20, 2007, 06:56:34 AM »
Ok so I need some help...
Some people I know (who know absolutely nothing about computers) are getting frustrated with their pc and want to buy a mac. I am trying to help fix their pc but I also want to show them what is better in a mac... can someone give me a list of what might be better in a mac for them? (Just for basic users because, as I said, they know no technical stuff)

Thx.

Ok, here it is... PC's can play games, run photoshop, be compatible for almost any program, and can be easily customized.  Mac's don't have viruses (they can't even get negative attention) and can also run photoshop... That's about it.

Well... That happened

Actually, macs have viruses. I read it in a magazine that a bunch of people held a 10k$ contest to whoever could infect a mac with a virus. It turns out that some guy exploited quicktime and he won 10 grand. Except the chances of a mac getting a virus is alot lower than a pc.

Yeh, Apple even started letting people put windows on mac's...

you will NEVER see microsoft letting people use Mac OS on a PC...its already good enough...

mac is so bad, that they have to allow other OS's in order to survive...

Mac's really do suck compared to windows, Windows can do everything a mac can and more, and why do you think they would have anti-virus for macs if they didn't have viruses, and the fact that macs don't have any virus protection standard make macs completely vulnerable to a virus, the thing is programmers don't make viruses for macs often because they wouldn't affect as many users, because only about 1 out of 10 users use only a mac.
So, there you go, don't get a mac, I got one, thank god it was free, and used it as a doorstop, the ram is horrible and the hard drive is so small you can't even buy one that size retail
The cake is a lie....

If you buy a mac I feel you get better value you but. You can than individually purchase Windows for Mac but a Mac's stock hardware is probably much more boastful than a typical PC's stock hardware.
