I tried to follow a couple of threads but it seems I have some unique problems that are not the same as the other persons' problems so I'm posting this as a last resort.

just so to speed things up....

I've downloaded:
- hijackthis
- ewido
- already had ad aware SE
- BFU.exe and p2pnetwork.bfu...
- Windows Cleanup!

I ran all of this following another thread. I only deleted the cookies found in the Cleanup and the bad stuff in Ad aware. I didn't touch anything in Ewido but scanned and recorded a log from it.  my computer runs much better now but it is still getting the error popup.
I think I've still got a lot of stuff I dont need in my task manager but didn't want to touch anything in case it is relevent to how the computer works.

Please help me fix this error popup? I only want to fix this popup that's all! http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

Can you do the following please, I'll post a fix after that
Save Silent Runners.vbs to your desktop and double click on it to run.
If prompted by your AV, please let this script run, we are just collecting information

 This will create a text file on your desktop
Open the text file and copy and paste the contents back here

NOTE: let silentrunners completely finish, it should prompt when it is done

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Can you do the following please

When I ask you too download a zip file, make sure you choose SAVE TO DISK rather than Open
Can you open "MyComputer"
Double click to open Local Disk C: drive
Right click an empty spot  and left click NEW>>Folder
A new folder will be placed in the C: folder , name it BFU
So you now have C:\BFU

==Download and save and then UNZIP to the BFU folder
BFU.zip
So you now have BFU.exe extracted

==RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download EGDACCESS Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier
C:\BFU folder

Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
IMPORTANT>>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as fix.reg

Save this file on the desktop, well need this later, don't run it yet
Ensure to save REGEDIT4 and below in the code box

Code: [Select]
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"SurfAccuracy"=-
"muydghoja"=-

==Download and Install
Windows Cleanup! 4.0
Don't run it yet

==Download and then Install
Ewido Security Suite

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link after you have Ewido installed
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Please  save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop for reference
or Print them out!

RESTART your Computer into SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Choose Safe mode from the startup menu and hit Enter

Access your Add/remove programs via control panel and remove if found
SurfAccuracy

Remain in safe mode and delete this folder if found
C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy <-folder

==Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

    * Empty Recycle Bins
    * Delete Cookies
    * Delete Prefetch files
    * Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
When it's done, decline to log off or restart the computer

==Open the BFU folder
Double click to run BFU.exe
Use the "Open Script file" button (the folder icon next to Scriptfile to execute)
Navigate to EGDACCESS.bfu in the BFU folder
Right click EGDACCESS.bfu and choose Select
In Brute Force Uninstaller select Execute
Let it finish then Exit

==Double click on fix.reg and allow to add/merge to the registry

==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
  *2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
  *3. Perform action with all infections

  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: When Ewido is running, don't open any other Windows

Stay in safe mode
Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

On a side note... there were several files in that list you told me to check in the Ewido to "fix checked" that was just not there... even the p2esocks_1045.dll one which was the file that I was getting popups about. I kept a list of those files that weren't in the ewido list to be fixed so if you want that I can post that.

That's a result of someone else's scan
Can you do this again please

Can you go to this site
Jotti's Online Malware scan
Give this site time to load if busy

Use the browse button and navigate to this file on your hard drive
C:\Documents and Settings\Jennifer\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\internet explorer\V0.39.dat <-this file

Right click on it  and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning<---Again, You must wait until it has finished uploading the file from your computer and scanning it
Could you post back the results of the scans back here please>>Your results of the V0.39.dat file

That's ok, Metallica's EGDACCESS script would of taken care of some files for you

Yup, me too

Can you do the following please
Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>Open Delete File on Reboot
In the File name open field
Copy and paste the below in bold to the full path of the file name

C:\Documents and Settings\Jennifer\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\internet explorer\V0.39.dat

Then Click the OPEN button, hijackthis should prompt that the file will be deleted and to reboot the computer
Don't reboot yet
Instead, in Hijackthis>>Click the Back button
Then click SCAN
Put a tick next to this entry:

O18 - Filter: text/html - {C342E0D7-E333-42D5-89C6-47B734C359C6} - C:\Documents and Settings\Jennifer\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\internet explorer\V0.39.dat

After you have ticked the above entry, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer
Back in Windows, make sure that V0.39.dat is gone

Post a fresh hijackthis log

Looks good. You can go back and hide hidden files and folders

*If everything is running better
We should clear all your restore points to ensure you don't restore any nasties that may be residing in the
restore folders
Go to START>>RUN>>In the open field
type in msconfig
Click the "Launch System Restore" button
On the Left hand side click on "System Restore Settings"
Put a Check in "Turn off System Restore"

Apply it and OK out of there>>Reboot your computer

Back in Windows, Go back and take the check out of Turn off system restore
This will reenable the System Restore feature and creates a new restore point
===========================
*For added protections against future attacks
You should install this free tool
SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 by JavaCool
    *Will block bad ActiveX Controls
    *Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
    *Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer
    After installation, Check for updates and then click the "Enable all protection"
    Check for updates every couple of weeks
    after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"
===========================

*Check for updates with your anti-spyware programs and run a check on a regular basis
About every couple of weeks

In addition to Ad-Aware, you should also include this next tool
Spybot 1.4, can be downloaded from HERE
or HERE
    *After installation--Click the
UPDATE button on the left
*SEARCH FOR UPDATES on the right
*Check, and then download all updates
After update is complete
*Click the "Immunize" button on the left>>>OK at the prompt>>Immunzine at the top green cross
*Click the "Search & Destroy" button on the left
"Check for Problems"---When the Scan is complete
*FIX all selected problems in RED
RESTART the computer if any RED items were fixed
Do the above after every update
===========================
I would opt to hold onto CleanUp! <--can be ran once a week
and Ewido<--check for updates once a month and run a scan
===========================
You appear to be up to date on Windows updates
Just a reminder, if you are not set to Autoupdate, make a habit of visiting Windows Updates
and check for High Priority updates a couple times a month
This is important in keeping your system secure

Stay safe  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
