I was infected with idemlog.exe & UnspyPC, which caused an unwanted sidebar to appear on the desktop. These were both removed by Adaware in the last few days. However a side effect of this infection remains; when I open a search result in google I'm redirected to a seemingly random site via IP address 85.255.115.162 (this number appears briefly at the bottom of the screen as part of the new site). A friend who is more computer literate than me found a few entries in the registry that contained this number, presumably remnants of the infection. Erring on the side of caution however we are seeking more informed sources (you) before making any changes.
I've run Spybot, Adaware, & Microsoft antispyware but apart from the success above, the problem remains. Can you help?
Thanks

Hi Groover, sorry I never caught your post earlier

Can you do the following please
From my signature below, download and save too a permanent folder on your harddrive
Hijackthis 1.99.1
Open Hijackthis.exe

Do a SCAN and Save a Log file---Save the log----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?
