How Do I Shrink An ISO FILE

Alright, so I recently ripped a DVD using Apollo DVD Copy into an ISO File so that I can burn it later; however, it was too large of a file to burn onto a Imation DVD-R 4.7 GB disc. Is there a free program out there that I can download to get the ISO File down to the right size for the Disc? Right now its 7.9 GB and I need to get it below 4.7 GB... If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Is that possible?  Does it just lower the quality of the picture/sound?
