device installer problem

i keep getting the message "windows cannot load the installer for port. please contact hardware vendoe for assistance" i have no idea how to get rid of this message, i have no problems connecting to the internet etc and have not installed any new hardware for a long time, anyone got any ideas what is going on or how i can fix it?? thanks in advance

I don't really have an idea at this moment why you are getting the prompt

Can I check on something please
From my signature below, download and save too a permanent folder on your harddrive
Hijackthis 1.99.1
Open Hijackthis.exe

Do a SCAN and Save a Log file---Save the log----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important
