Hey guys, Got some cool news, special thanks to Jizzler for bringing this to my attention http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />   :

Micron, a widely known guru in the electronics world is going to start producing AMD chipsets.  Micron had been producing Intel chipsets, but wasn\'t able to publicize them because of licensing, but now they will be producing, and publicizing AMD chipsets for the world to enjoy!! :

Scimiter will have a core logic with 6/8 MB of embedded memory that will perform as an L3 cache. There is no integrated graphics. The chipset will come out in the end of the first quarter of 2001.

SuperGun will have Rendition graphics core integrated. It is to be launched in the third quarter of 2001.

Mamba will be a server- and workstation-oriented chipset. It will be launched in the last quarter of 2001.(dontcha just love these names?)

Looks like next year there will be no problems with chipsets for Athlon. There are six logic core manufacturers to attack this market sector.
