XP Volume License Key for Home Edition

Does anyone know what will happen if I try to use a Volume License Key from work for XP Pro Corp to install and activate XP Home Edition?

yet it will say invalid key at least next time fing a home key for a home xp or  xp pro key for xp pro cd
