Overclocking a P4 Celeron 1.7
« on: November 27, 2003, 07:58:18 AM »
Hi Guys,

As anyone OC'ed one of these suckers? The highest I got mine was 2GHz, before the OC'ed harddisk corrupted the registry. My mobo does not allow independent setting of parameters, so if I up my FSB, everything else is upped as well. The CPU and RAM copes fine, but the ATA100 disk doesn't like it much.

Cheers.

A 300 mhz O/C is pretty good.  Go to this site and check out the cpu data base to see what other people got out of there 1.7. http://www.overclockers.com/
I'm running a Athlon 1.4 at 1.6 with no voltage increase.  It will go higher but I don't want to up the volts and shorten it's life.
