setting up a network with desktop + wireless laptop

Wanted to see if anyone could help me set up a home network for file sharing.

I have a Dell desktop that is connected via ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless router.  Just purchased an HP laptop that connects to the Linksys via wireless connection.

How do I go about setting up a network between the 2 computers?  I've walked through some of the steps on the desktop, but seems like if I create the disk as it says to do, it won't work on the laptop's wireless connection.

Any help much appreciated.

Ok i have wireless network between a destop and a wireless notebook too. Make sure you have both computer name different. At the end of seting up a network where it says would u like to creat a disk or something like that. just ignore that if both computers are running windows xp. Which they probably are. Just click the dot that says i do not need to set up a disk right now. Ok that done. If you want to share my documents you have to clcik share this folder along the left hand side. Just do that for every other file you wanted to share. I share my music and my documents between my two computers. If you need any more answers or help I will be glad to. Please tell me if this worked.

Edit:: On the this that comes up make sure you click Share this folder on the network. And if you want to change the files on the other computer click allow network users to change these files.
