People were having a fit that it was pinned (I didn't notice it) because I banned someone else for spamming their forum (spam as in, talking trash about this forum and telling everyone they should go to their forum instead). Since the post was a bit iffy, and it probably wasn't a good idea to be pinned, I just deleted it.
Just to be clear, you can mention rs2mm, that's fine. Put it in your signature, tell everyone about the trades you've had both on ttg and rs2mm, etc. Telling people to go there and register, there's an admin spot available, etc...that's a bit iffy (but far as I know, no one has said ttg is crap, go to rs2mm instead, I'll make you a mod, etc.; so it's no big deal).
So there's no confusion or future hard feelings (I'm not upset now, don't get me wrong, this is just to make sure there's not a misunderstanding in the future), here's the basic rules:
There's a cool site you think is relevent to the topic or section you're in, and you're not affiliated with it (i.e., you don't own the site, if you're a co-admin or moderator this is a bit iffy), then go ahead and tell people about it. For example, I, a regular user, can go to the General forum under Runescape, and make a post regarding rs2mm (rs2mm is back up, yay! or I was scammed by someone there, just whatever).
You own a site or are otherwise affiliated with it. You want to tell everyone to go sign up on your new forum! Post in the Idle Chat section of this forum. For example, I, the owner of some-rs-site.com, want to get people to come to my site cause I have the coolest mods and brand-new forums (sign up now and you'll be a mod!); I should post in the Idle Chat section.
Now, co-admins and moderators of a site need to watch themselves more, they're kinda affiliated with a site, so you might not want to make a post that smells a bit spammy in the General section (hopefully a regular user will post about that new contest you have going on, or what-not). There's a simple enough way around that though. I bet you can post on your forum asking users to spread the word (then they come here, post about it in passing, and it's all cool). If your site was down for a while, and you know a lot of people here were signed up there too, then just PM one and have them announce it. Now there's no question about whether we're giving certain people preferential treatment or not.
Oh, and even if you are a co-admin or moderator elsewhere, feel free to discuss trades made on the other site. Let's say you're a mod at rs2mm, feel free to list your trades from there in your signature here. And, if anyone asks something like "what's up with rs2mm, it's been down for days" feel free to answer their question. Just don't start a new thread announcing what's new with your site, let someone else do that.
Hope I cleared things up more and didn't just confuse everyone more. Please understand that I've been working on the server for over ten hours now trying to get everything working just right after the network fiasco (plus all the time trying to get hold of someone to get the freaking thing back up), so if it makes no sense just say so, and when I wake up tomorrow after a good night's sleep I'll clarify.
