Everyone likes to make money right?

Of course!

This guide is to MERCHANTING

The "SKILLING" money guide will be up soon.

First. To make money, you need money. That is the basis of this guide.

1k To 100k or 300k.

Well you are at the starting block. You can't really merchant, but what you can do is gather supplies. A good begining money maker is collecting feathers. Feathers are good, because you can a) kill the chickens for them (0-15 feathers per kill) or http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'B)\' /> Buy the feathers. When you buy them, buy them 1-3 gp ea on the free worlds (e.g. world 1,3,4,5) then sell them to members. To do this, you can look on the RuneScape Forums. Click the search threads button. Type in: "buying all feathers" and under the dropdown list, choose Fletching. Once you find a person to buy the feathers, add them to your friends list and PM them, telling them how many feathers you have and how much you are willing to sell each.

101k to 500k

Good job! You now are finally in the 100k range.

Now if you are a member, you have a good way to make money! Go to world 2, by Fally east bank. Go west a bit till you see an opening in the fence to the gardens. By the shield store, there will be many people selling "Torags" items*. Stop at this spot. You can now start merchanting TORAGS HAMMERS. When you buy them, buy them for 50k-90k each. Buy as many as you can, then go onto the RuneScape Forums, Weapons Fourm, and post a thread with how many you are selling. Usually people will buy for up to 100k each, which means you can make over 30k profit per item!

If you are not a member, you can go to world 1,3,4, or 5, and again, go to fally east bank, and buy all the iron ore you can for 50-90gp each. Then you go on the forums and sell them for 100 ea to the members. In the forums, click on the search button again type: "buying coal and iron" and on the dropdown list, choose the Ores and Bars Forum.

500k to 1M

Congratulations, you now have 500k.

Your Options:

Now, you can begin skilling or you can keep merchanting. I will explain the merchanting.
Now that you have 500k, you can begin merchanting Obby Items. The obby items are:
-Obby Maul
-Obby Shield
-Obby Cape

These are the main Obsidian Merchanting items.

When you are merchanting obby items, some good places to buy them are:

Pest Control Island(World 78, and 2)
Fally Gardens (Almost Dead Center) World 2
RuneScape Forums

A good place to sell these items are:

Fally Gardens (Almost Dead Center) World 2
RuneScape Forums.

There are lots of other things to merchant at this level, I have just outlined the Obsidian Items.

1.1M to 5m+

This is the "Profiting Off Of Other People Skilling" Phase.

A good thing to do right now is to buy yew logs and bowstrings. PLEASE NOTE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FLETCH THESE ITEMS. There are many people (surprisingly) that will trade these supplies for completed bows.

1k Yew Logs -       250k                          
1k Bow Strings -   180k
-----------------------------------
                           430k Buying Cost

Yew Long Bows Sell For - 550k
Yew Logs & Bowstrings  - 430k
----------------------------------------------
                                     120k Profit for doing nothing!!

Another good thing to do is to buy Magic Logs and/or Sharks.

1k Magic Logs/Cooked Sharks Bought For - 900k
1k Magic Logs/Cooked Sharks Sold For     - 1000k
100k Profit for doing nothing!! (This may be less then the yew way, but it is A LOT faster, trust me.)

5m to 10m+

Wow, you are getting rich!

Now is the time to invest in a rare! Buy an easter egg/Disk of return/Half-wine for however much they are nowadays
IMPORTANT! IF YOU BUY AN EASTER EGG, ALWAYS KEEP IT NOTED, YOU DONT WANT TO ACCIDENTLY EAT IT!

You should also continue Profiting off of other people skilling.
