this question is mainly for Josetann.
Is their anyway that I can take the hd out of the dishplayer and install it in my comp and get the movies off of it that i recorded?

No, there\'s no way to do that unfortunately.  Closest thing you can do, is hook it to a tv tuner type card and record it to your pc.

Some people seem to let a hard drive fill up with a bunch of episodes (say all of x-files or whatever), then pop that drive out and keep it for a rainy day.  Kinda expensive, then again you can get a 40gig drive for $100 now.  Not too bad.
