Computer freezing up
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:41:13 AM »
I can't run a hijack log because I get my computer to function.  I noticed after I shut it down when I was leaving the house.  I returned and it told me that internet explorer was not responding, so I ended the program and it started to shut down.  Well it just sat there with my desktop picture up and that's it.  I finally had to just unplug my pc after 20 minutes.  I let it rest, after about an hour I turned it back it on and it started up fine.  Then when I tried to get into any program it gave me the hourglass as if it was going to open the program but it didn't.  It just sat there.  I tried to look at my task manager and even that had trouble opening and eventually quite responding.  I couldn't get to my hijack log to run it.  It finally let me hit the shut down button but it froze up the same way it did in the begining when I noticed the problem.  I had to unplug it again.  Anyone having this problem?  Is this a virus???  Help!
