Questolo..help please!
« on: January 20, 2007, 10:45:57 AM »
Hi Questolo...last time we talked was before Christmas.  You were in the process of helping me out when the site wouldn't let me respond for several days so I gave up for awhile.  I'm back.  My computer was and is running very slow and you help me get rid of a couple of bad guys but it's still not running right.  Don't know where you want me to start so I'll wait to hear from you:)  My son has been on here and I suspect foul play...lol

Looking at your log, I don't see anything bad

But let's carry on with what we were doing earlier

Download and save too your root directory
In your case, This will be the C:\ directory
 F-Secure Blacklight(blbeta.exe)
So you will now have C:\blbeta.exe
* Open a command window. (Start>Run and type: cmd)
* Copy paste or type the following in the command window:

C:\blbeta.exe /expert

    * Accept the user agreement.
    * Click Scan.
    * After the scan finishes, click on Next, then Exit.
Do not rename any files if found by blacklight, I need to see the log

BlackLight will create a log with the name "fsbl-xxxxxxx.log".
Can you post back here the contents of C:\"fsbl-xxxxxxx.log".

Also, do the following
Download this file - Combofix.exe and save it too desktop
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Post the log from Combofix

I see a lot of entries we fixed with hijackthis in the past and nothing else bad
But I do see McAfee's running and Norton's not fully uninstalled
Go to the following link and run the uninstaller to completely remove Norton from your machine
Ensure to reboot  afterwards
Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log and let me know how things are running
